‘Your Girlfriend Hates Me’ Wins HotDisc ‘Most Successful British & Irish Single’ 2017Dec 31 2017

I am so very happy and grateful to have won a Country Music Award 2017 from Hotdisc Top 40 today for ‘Most Successful British & Irish Single’ for ‘Your Girlfriend Hates Me’, a song I wrote with my dear friend Sarah Sharp.  I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me by buying my record and attending live shows and to all the Radio DJs who have played my single… I could not do what I do without you.  I would also like to dedicate this achievement to my Dad (who I am pleased to say now home recovering post heart-op.) he has given me so much encouragement, love and support over the years, this one’s for you x

Wow. I would like to say a big THANK-YOU to Michael HingstonChris Smith & Country Music People for including ‘Shaken’ in two of the ‘Critics’ Choice – The Best of 2017′ lists. Many great albums were released this year and I am so grateful for the acknowledgement.  I worked really hard to make this record and it means a lot… Thank-You x

“The first single ‘Your Girlfriend Hates Me’, enjoyed several weeks at the top of the Hotdisc chart which is hugely encouraging and indicates much more success may be on it’s way for Hannah in 2018. She has an original and versatile vocal style well worth hearing.”

Live Review from Three Chords & The TruthDec 22 2017

Thank-you so much to David Hughes from Three Chords & the Truth for reviewing our Christmas Special at The Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath, Birmingham on Wednesdays 20th December.  We are so grateful for his knowledgeable and thoughtful writing about what we do… he gets it and we appreciate that.  Do read the full article HERE.  Also thanks to everyone who attended, helped pack out the room and bought merch… ’twas a great evening all round!

“Hannah Johnson is another fully paid up member of the genre preservation society and her musical stance is a trait that has shone brightly for as long as she has stood on stage proclaiming the worth of her beloved music. From the early days of the Toy Hearts to the difficult circumstances relating to this hometown show, she has steadfastly stood up for what she believes in and created a niche within those who share her ideals.

The past can either be learnt from, or upheld, while the future will always be the realm of the unknown. Living in the present on the evening of December 20th 2017 however, saw a celebration of what ultimately binds many likeminded people, with the winner being neither artists nor audience, just ‘real’ country music or effectively ‘three chords and the truth’. Music is really the best medicine.”

On a more sombre note and for those of you who do not know, my dad Stewart Johnson has been very unwell for the past week or so.  He suffered a heart attack and will need to undergo a triple bypass… So it’s Christmas in hospital for us.  His surgery has not yet been scheduled due to the holiday season approaching but we will be sure to keep you updated.  We would like to sincerely thank all of our friends and fans for their outpour of love and support during this difficult time.  We wish you health, peace and happiness this Christmas and New Year x
